Marshall - Carrie Calhoun

Our community was shocked on Saturday morning when it was announced that Mrs. Wm Marshall was dead. Carrie Calhoun was born July 1, 1869, was married to Wm Marshall about three years ago, and died Dec. 9, 1899, of heart failure. She had been indisposed for about a month but none of her neighbors thought of her case being critical until the final summons came. The funeral was held on Monday morning conducted by Rev. D. W. Postill, assisted by Rev. Caldwell, a United Brethren preacher from southwest of town. She leaves a husband, one son, a father and mother, a brother, two sisters and a host of friends to mourn her untimely and sudden departure. -s
